Thursday Netball with Emma

Every Thursday Room’s 20 & 22 go out for netball sessions in the morning and afternoon to help with our netball skills. Our instructor Emma is from the Auckland Netball association.

When we First start we had to do 2 laps around the court and do some dynamic stretches we did high knees, butt kicks and the grape vine. The First thing Emma told us to do was to get into pairs then she taught us some passing skills, the first pass was a chest pass then the fly pass and the last one was the bounce pass.

Our last skill She taught us was stepping in netball, you’re not aloud to step. We had to go behind the yellow line with our partner on the other side with a ball. The person without the ball had to run across the yellow line and take to steps before getting the ball.

To end our sessions we played a game of corner ball. The aim of the game was to get the ball to your team mate in the corner surrounded by cones.
